Cueto Signs Extension

Johnny Cueto has signed a 4 year deal worth $27 million with the Reds, according to a tweet from Enrique Rojas at ESPNDeportes.

The full report can be found here, but just a warning if you aren’t bilingual it is in Spanish. If you have Google Chrome though it will provide a fairly rudimentary (and hilarious) translation that will give you the jest.

Yet another in the line of arbitration eligible players who the Reds are taking care of. Par for the Reds course over the last week it seems.

Yep…and news is coming out now that the Reds are in talks with him too. I couldn’t be more pleased with the direction the Reds are taking in trying to lock up those talented younger players we have. It makes you feel better as a fan when your team isn’t just cutting young talent loose for fear of being too costly, but instead keeping them. You have to commend ownership and management for pushing an agenda that looks to make the Reds relevant on a league-wide basis for the foreseeable future.
