The Reds played a little small ball in Arizona to win 13-5. Willy Taveras went 5-5, stole a base, and scored 4 times.
Bronson Arroyo (5-2) pitched 7 innings to get the win. He gave up 5 earned runs and struck out five. He got the job even though it wasn’t pretty at times. Arroyo gave up 3 more homers.
The Reds’ road record is now a sterling 11-5. They have a better road record than home record (6-9).
Willy Taveras extended his hitting streak to 12 games while Jay Bruce’s ended at 11 games.
I can see the confidence growing on this team. They are doing the little things to win. They have good starting pitching, timely hitting, and speed on the basepaths. I hope they can continue down this road.
Go Reds,
Tim
