Edinson Volquez and the Reds gave up a first inning double to Miguel Tejada and that was it, as the Reds won 3-0. Adam Rosales, in his first start, drove in 2 runs.
Cincinnati finally got the monkey off their back by winning at home versus Houston since 2007. It was a streak of 11 straight home losses.
Volquez, in his last start, walked seven hitters but today he walked one. He also struck out six Astros. At one point, he retired 17 straight batters. It was a huge change from his last start. Let’s hope he gains some confidence from this start.
Go Reds,
Tim
